PROJECT/ On August 2014 I had the opportunity to participate to two weeks of research work and knowledge sharing with other students and professionals. The summer school was held in Cesis, a 10 000 inhabitants rural town in Latvia. Participants were divided in three workshops (architecture and building, design and advertising and urban research). Each team explored in their own ways the wellness issue specificly in Cesis.
I was part, with 7 other students and 2 tutors, of the urban research group and for 10 days we worked as an editorial team and journalists in order to publish "The naturalist". It is a 27 pages newspaper/publication both in english and latvian which investgates the meaning and uses of the natural environment in Cesis inhabitant's everyday life and the urban dynamic.
My contribution is an article, "Journey in Time", that analyses the links between the evolution of the concept of well being, scientific discoveries, political events and urban developpment in Cesis from the 18th century until nowadays. This story is represented in a collage-style timeline (below).
